We are Katri and Ilkka Tammela, a married couple from Helsinki in our fifties. We travel whenever our main jobs in the IT industry gives us the opportunity. We enjoy both the hustle and bustle of big cities and the beauty of stunning nature destinations.
Our travel blog, Ne Tammelat, was founded in 2017 and has taken us on incredible adventures in over 70 countries across seven continents.
On our blog, you’ll find more than 300 travel-related articles reaching over 36,000 readers annually. Our Instagram and TikTok accounts have over 5,000 followers combined, and through them we reach tens of thousands of eyes every month.

Visibility across multiple channels – case Visit Somero
We have been guests of Visit Somero twice on media trips – the first as part of a group and the second independently. The goal was to explore Somero’s diverse travel offerings and share content across our own channels.
- We wrote blog articles about our visits, giving local businesses visibility. Thanks to successful search engine optimization, these articles continue to attract readers.
- During the trip, we posted Instagram Stories so our followers could join us virtually for the weekend. After the trip, we published photo and video content.
- For TikTok, we selected businesses that matched our audience’s interests and created four videos – all of which achieved impressive view counts.
